Procedures for Continuing your Orthodontic Care
During Mandated Office Closure

The Governor of Virginia has ordered that all dental practices be closed until April 24, 2020. Only emergency in-office appointments are permitted until then.

However, in many cases, we can continue and advance your or your child’s orthodontic treatment during this period. We intend to use “Virtual Appointments” to monitor treatment progress, make recommendations about appliances, monitor and direct elastic wear and Invisalign aligners, and provide guidance on non-emergent problems that you can manage from home.

Our number one priority is the health and well-being of our patients and staff. What better time than now to use technology to provide the best treatment possible for our patients, even if we can’t see you in the office?

To continue orthodontic care, we will be reaching out to our current orthodontic patients/parents and asking you to submit a series of 5-8 “selfie” photos. These photos will give Dr. Joe the information he needs to provide you with recommendations for monitoring and continuing your or your child’s orthodontic treatment. You can find detailed instructions on our website about how to take and submit the photos.

When our office staff contacts you to request photos, you can schedule a “Virtual Appointment” with Dr. Joe to review those photographs, discuss treatment progress and receive recommendations.

We look forward to a return to normalcy and the ability to see our patients in the office. Until then, stay healthy and in good spirits.

Sincerely,
Joseph S. Errera, DDS
